Mies in Berlin & Potsdam

info
Mies van der Rohe lived and worked in Berlin for 30 years. During this time, he designed, rejected and realised 44 buildings across Berlin and Potsdam. The book brings these projects together in the form of a compact architectural guide. Some buildings remain, others have disappeared entirely, but traces of Mies’s work can still be found throughout the city. The design takes its cues from an old notebook or diary: functional, restrained and direct. Simple architectural drawings, illustrated visualisations and photography create a clear visual system that reflects Mies’s own approach to architecture. A ribbon marker reinforces the book’s quiet, classical character.
