Marc Naroska is a founding partner, art director and member of the board of trustees of the C/O Berlin Foundation, an internationally renowned exhibition centre for photography in Berlin. PROJECT Book DESIGN Concept / Book CLIENT Hatje Cantz, Berlin / Germany

The book and exhibition explore the history and present of image transmission from an artistic perspective – from analogue forms of circulation to digital communication. The design takes the stylised paper aeroplane as its starting point: a simple, immediately recognisable symbol of movement, transmission and sending, now also firmly established as an icon for digital messaging. This dual meaning forms the visual principle for both the exhibition and the book, linking the historical and contemporary dimensions of the subject.
